30 December 2005, I am going there again in February 2006. Save for the minor food poisoning I suffered last weekend, training has progressed nicely. Mileages logged since November 2005 – swim 47 km, bike 900km and run 320km. Been slowly and patiently building up the mileage. Longest swim thus far was 3.0 km, longest bike 166km and longest run 31km. I have a little over a month to build up to slightly over race distance before a think about tapering 3 weeks prior to race day.

Previous Races - A Famosa Tri 2005
17 April 2005, Race Day at A Famosa. TT & No 1 were there for me. A Famosa was where I did my very first triathlon back in 2003. This year was my 3rd visit. But a bad swim had ruined the day. Did not recover on the bike, felt heavy, could not hang on to any rider & rode mostly alone without drafting. The only good I did was a 48 mins 10km run under the baking hot sun. Finished this Olympic Distance triathlon in 2:41, ranked 24th out of 50 in my age group & 60th out of 156 overall.
This was my last race with Cadex before TREK came into my life. Hope to race with Cadex again some time in the near future.

Previous Races - Desaru Half Ironman 2005

Previous Races - Powerman Malaysia 2005
The race actually started the week before i.e. on Sunday, 18 September 2005 - the day after Desaru. It was a race to recover from a half Ironman to be race fit again in 7 days. Glad I signed up because on Friday, 23 September 2005, I was all set and fired up to race again.
25 September 2005, Race Day at Putrajaya - It was good to have TT and Number 1 with me again (they were there for me in last year’s race). The sky was gloomy at the start of the race but the sun came out during the bike leg & was typical Putrajaya during the last 10 km run i.e. BLOODY HOT!!!!
First 10km run was on target - 45:20. Felt strong & comfortable thru'out the bike leg and finished 60km bike on target in 1:45:50. But cramped on the thighs & right calf & only managed a 56:06 split in the last 10km run. Overall, it took me 3:29:12 to finish this gruelling non drafting duathlon (for the 3rd time), ranked 13th out of 78 in my age group & 65 out of 256 overall.
